The Story Behind Ahead
Ahead was founded in 1996 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and grew out of the golf world rather than the fashion one. The company started by supplying headwear to pro shops and resorts, and that channel still shapes how the products are cut, decorated and sized today.
The brand became a fixture at major championships and tournament merchandise tents, where volume, turnaround and licensing accuracy matter more than trend cycles. That work built the decorating operation that now handles custom logo programs for clubs, universities and corporate accounts.

Performance styles typically use the mid fit. If a cap has felt too tall in the past, mid fit is usually the better choice.

Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent and reshape the crown while damp. Air dry away from direct heat. Machine washing and dryers break down the sweatband and can distort a structured crown. Straw hats should never be soaked; wipe the brim with a barely damp cloth instead.
The lightweight and performance lines are built for it. Vented panels and moisture-wicking sweatbands move heat away from the head, and straw golf hats add shade across the face and neck. For full sun exposure over several hours, a wide-brim sun hat or bucket hat covers more than a baseball cap does.
